Head of Web Development (m/f/d) eCommerce

With our brands Holzprofi24 and Leondo, we operate some of the leading e-commerce platforms for Home & Garden in Europe. We combine modern web technologies, data-driven online marketing, and powerful logistics to deliver an outstanding shopping experience for our customers. To lead our web development team both strategically and operationally, we are looking for a Head of Web Development who will shape our system landscape technically and visionarily, drive sustainable architectural decisions, and provide professional leadership for our development team.

• As our Technology Lead, you own the long-term direction of our technical architecture, designing complex e-commerce systems, interfaces, and core components to pave the way for future growth

• Evaluating new technologies, frameworks, and systems is a core part of your role, playing a decisive part in strategic make-or-buy decisions and proactively driving the expansion of our platforms

• Working closely with Product Management, Marketing, and other business units, you act as a strategic bridge, translating complex business requirements into high-performing, scalable, and future-proof technical solutions

• Ultimate accountability for the stability, security, scalability, and performance of our platforms rests in your hands, combined with the continuous optimization of our development workflows from CI/CD to agile methodologies

• With empathy and structure, you assume the functional leadership and mentoring of our development team, fostering the individual career growth of your team members and sustainably managing resource and capacity planning

• A degree in Computer Science, a comparable professional education, or equivalent practical qualifications, combined with extensive, long-term experience in agile software development – ideally with a track record in a senior lead or head-of role

• Profound, battle-tested knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (such as Vue.js / Nuxt.js) as well as experience with Shopware or comparable e-commerce platforms

• Proven track record of leading, motivating, and scaling development teams, with a passion for fostering a modern, open, and collaborative engineering culture

• Deep understanding of complex system architectures, API design, cloud infrastructures, and modern DevOps practices

• Highly analytical and strategic mindset, strong assertiveness, and excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical roadmaps and visions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
